● Framework:
Framework of the APS is connected by means of
assembling and partly-welding. The unit
switchgear is separated assembled and remains
functioning separately, e.g. the Control Unit,
Breaker Unit. Main Line Unit and Cable Unit.
Steel sheet or Insulation sheet is adopted to
separate the units.
● Main line:
The Main Line is made of high conductive copper
so as to increase the conduction ability.
● Main Control units and functions:
Auto Synchronizing Controller: Installed in the
Output Box, the controller compares the phase
position and frequency of the Genset which is
not paralleled with the Busbar Wire. It gives
the current signal when phase difference occurs.
And the signal will raise or lower the Genset
speed according to the Gensets’ phase angle
difference compared with the Busbar wire. The
size of the signal is pro rata with the phase
position. When the phase and frequency can match
the “lock” period within a limited range, the
Controller will close the contacts which are
open at normal time and close the loaded breaker
by the Relay. The controller is capable of
displaying the speed and the synchronizing
display.
Paralleling Central Controller(HARSEN-ASYN205):
The controller works as a governor and power
balancer. When not paralleling, the controller
can receive the signals from the Auto
synchronizing Controllers and change the speed
of the Genset, so as to match the phase and
voltage frequency of the Gensets and Busbar
Wire. After paralleling, the Controller compares
the Real Power and voltage frequency with the
pre-set frequency. Then after adding the
signals, the Controller outputs the
speed-control signals so as to parallel the
Gensets with the Real load balanced.
● Meters and functions:
P.F. Meter: Monitors the percentage of the Real
power comparing with the Apparent Power.
AC Current Meter: 3 meters monitor the 3 phase
current simultaneously.
AC Voltage Meter: Monitors the line voltage or
phase voltage selected by the “Voltage-select”
switch.

of the Genset.
● Meters
and functions of the Export Box:
P. F.
Meter: monitor the percentage of the Real Power
comparing with the Apparent Power.
AC Current Meter: Monitor the 3 phase current of
the total load.
AC
Voltage: Monitors the line voltage and phase
voltage of the Busbar Wire.
Frequency Meter: monitors the voltage frequency
of the Busbar Wire.
● Status and fault light of the APS:
Generator Fault: Low Oil Pressure or High water
temperature fault when the light goes on. The
signal is delivered by the Genset control panel.
Reverse Power Fault: Reverse fault occurs
between paralleled Gensets when the light goes
on, and the figure exceed the control range.
E-stop: The indicating light goes on when press
the E-stop button; Breaker trips immediately and
paralleling Switchgear stops functioning.
Voltage Fault: when the output voltage is high/
low, the lights goes on.
Overload: the load of the Genset exceeds the
pre-set range when the light goes on.
DC Source: The DC source is connected when the
light goes on.
Generator Running: The Genset is running
normally when the light goes on.
Circuit Breaker closed: The loading breaker is
closed when the light goes on.
Raise: the speed of the engine raises when the
light goes on.

● APS protection:
Reverse Power Delay Protection: The Reverse
Power Relay monitors the Real Power of the
Genset. If the reverse Power reaches the pre-set
level(-2%~ -20%) within pre-set limited time
(0-30s), the Load Breaker will open the circuit
and stop the Genset by closing the remote
signals to avoid the other Genset mistakenly
started by the one. The pre-setting is normally
as 5s and 5% reverse power.
Genset fault Protection: When the running Genset
has fault occured, the control panel of the
Genset will send the signals to the APS. The
Load Breaker inside the APS will open the
circuit and stop sending the remote starting
signals.
Over/Under Voltage Protection: Over/Under
Voltage Relay monitors the output voltage of the
Genset. If the output voltage exceeds the
pre-set level (AC 220V -15%-0% or 0-15%) within
pre-set limited time (0-30s), the load breaker
will open the circuit and stop the Genset by
closing the remote signals.
Over Power Protection: The Over Power Protection
Relay monitors the Real Power of the Genset. If
the output voltage exceeds the pre-set level (AC
220V -15%-0% or 0-15%) within pre-set limited
time (0-30s), the load breaker will open the
circuit and stop the Genset by closing the
remote signals.
Emergency Stop: when the APS default occurs, the
operator will push the E-Stop button to open the
circuit in order to stop the remote start
signals.
● Selector Switch and operation Switch:
Voltage Selector: Rotate the Selector to display
the phase voltage and line voltage of the Busbar
Wire by the voltmeters.
Current Selector: Rotate the Selector to display
the phase current of the Busbar Wire by the
current meters.
Priority Load Selector(1#-OFF-2#):
When placed as 1#, the priority Genset is No. 1,
and No. 2 Geneset is the auxiliary power; when
placed as 2#, the priority Genset is No.2. and
No. 1 Genset is the auxiliary power; when placed
as “OFF”, the Gensets will be started manually.
